I'm still looking for art for my comic projects. However, I'm primarily focusing on my print endeavors. There is still a web project for which I am looking for art, but The Broken is on indefinite hiatus, for sure.
First, for the web endeavor: Trans Dimensional Trans Superheroes [link] is a community project webcomic which is, I believe, the first time there has been a superhero crossover where all the heroes are trans. It stars Madame Fatal (of the public domain), Liberty (of Spandex [link] ), Ice Queen (from RazielArt here on deviantART), and Astral, Eiderdown and Sparkle (of Karabear Comics Unlimited [link] ).
For my print endeavors, unlike the above project, though, I actually do intend to pay artists involved. I generally offer 50% of the proceeds and have usually stayed at that. However, I figured that in special circumstances I can pay $100 per comic (give or take, depending on the pages) and, considering a standard American comic book averages about 20 pages, that would make me say I can pay up to $5 per page. It's not much, but it's something.
But what of that other part of this journal's title? I am assuredly doing commissions, for the most part to pay for the art for print comics I mentioned above (and either raise what I can offer or make it more frequent that I can offer it). While I doubt people would pay for my art (though I am willing to negotiate a price if people do), I do feel people might want to see some of my writing. Therefore, I will put myself out for writing commissions.
Please note that I am primarily a fiction writer. I'm also asking less for it. Other forms of writing have more tacked on. Here are my rates:
Fiction writing: $5 per page (determined as 12 point single spaced Times New Roman font using default dimensions in Open Office)
Nonfiction (prose form): $5 per page, plus $8 per hour of research required
Articles/essays/etc.: 10 cents per word, plus $8 per hour of research required
Poetry: Give me a quote and we can work something out
